As a young girl Lona admired the lowriders of Klique CC and her older siblings, watching them cruise the town. These days you’ll find the 4 year member of True Memories CC attending car shows and community events throughout California, Nevada and Arizona - taking home a collection of awards for her 1951 Ford Shoebox with matching pedal car and 26-inch stretched bicycle by its side.
The iconic ‘51 shoebox is one of the most famous cars in automotive history and Lona happens to own one of the beauties. “Out of the darkness, into the light,” she said. This oldie but goody was covered in dust until Pete of Krazy Kustomz and Cosme worked their magic, giving it new life! A small added feature that can’t be overlooked is the diamond shift knob purchased by Lona’s husband, to give it that “girly” touch. Just like her inspiration - Frida Kahlo, Lona is a strong woman filled with passion and love for the Art and culture of her Mexican heritage.
“God is good,” says Lona, from humble beginnings the Aguirre familia have overcome life’s challenges, together they are now giving back to the community through their non-profit “Pure and Simple Charities” and Pure and Simple Academy, located in Lancaster, CA. Lona would like to thank the lowrider community for their continued support.
